Lekarczyk Returns as LFA Controller

LFA Welcomes Controller Lekarczyk

LFA welcomes its first controller this year, former employee Maricela Lekarczyk. Lekarczyk, worked for LFA for nearly three years in the past but left to earn her Masters in Business Administration from Indiana University-South Bend, and to gain a variety of accounting, finance, and business administration experience. For five years, she worked in government finance for The City of South Bend in the Administration and Finance department. Her most recent position there was as the Director of City Finance. She also has experience in Federal Government Finance and Accounting.

“I am looking forward to bringing in my educational and professional experience into LFA to help our company continue to grow and thrive. I am excited to collaborate with all departments and help support in any way I can,” she said.

Lekarczyk said she was drawn back to the family atmosphere at LFA.

“It’s a great place to work” she said, “There are different personalities here and they all mesh well together. … LFA treats their employees very well. It might seem like you could find that anywhere, but, in my opinion, you can’t.”

Lekarczyk lives in South Bend with her husband of three years, Matt and Roscoe, their beloved German, who was born the same year, a day later, the year they were married. Lekarczyk enjoys hiking (Michigan’s Warren Dunes State Park is her favorite), tent camping, and she also runs marathons. (So far, she’s done the Chicago marathon twice with a future plan of an international marathon, possibly Berlin or London.)

“People say accountants are boring, I promise I am not!” she said. “I am glad to be working in South Bend, I love South Bend area; my family is here and it’s a great city with a lot of opportunity and future development coming.”

“Welcome back to the team, Maricela!
