Meet Chance Troksa, LFA’s Newest Structural Engineer
Chance Troksa joined the LFA Structural staff this year after graduating in December 2024 from Valparaiso University. He graduated after just three and half years while simultaneously running his own painting business, CT Painting.
Hailing from Schererville, IN, Troksa’s dad and three uncles are all electrical engineers, but he said he prefers working on “products you can see,” and went the civil engineering route instead.
“I’ve always been a math guy, but I really like being active and getting up from the desk from time to time,” he said. “I’m looking forward to learning how the structural design process works — how it all comes together and how what we do turns into a bridge or a refurbishing.”
When Troksa was looking for work, he decided on LFA for a couple of reasons, he said. One was that another college friend was joining the firm, but he also said he was impressed with the company culture and flexible hours.
“I’m more of a people person. I like to know the people I’m working with. I didn’t want to be a number at a gigantic company,” he said.
In his spare time, Troksa said he doesn’t like to sit still. He’s a member of Merrillville’s Turkey Creek Men’s Golf Club near his home and also enjoys biking, basketball, hiking and any card game he can find.
