Adams Joins Indy Office as Water Resources Engineer

Adams Ready to Make His Mark in Indy

Odise Adams joins the LFA team as a Water Resources Project Engineer in our newly formed Indianapolis office. He will be providing planning, design, and oversight for water resources projects.

Adams graduated from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, in 2013 after a few academic shifts at Florida State University and Northern Virginia Community College. He said he nearly completed a Bachelor’s degree in computer science but realized he did not want to sit inside and write code for the rest of his life. His lifelong love of building and making things led to his interest in civil engineering. His father inspired him with his work in construction for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, moving the family all around the world every two to three years growing up. He has lived in several states as well as Turkey and Germany.

“I certainly appreciate it now because all that moving made me better under pressure. I got so used to change,” he said.

Adams began his engineering career in Virginia as a field technician and project manager for private firms in geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing. He later moved to North Carolina for his wife’s education and eventually started working as a project manager for a municipal water/wastewater utility. He earned his Professional Engineer (PE) credential in 2019.

His wife, Dr. Elizabeth Clayton, is an assistant professor of management at Indiana University-Kokomo. They live in Noblesville, Indiana, with their three children, Bella, 21, Senna, 11, and Carver, 8. They moved to Indiana for her career, but also because Adams knew Indiana is experiencing an engineering boom and he would have the opportunity to work on a lot of exciting projects.

“I mainly chose LFA because the people seemed really open and excited to be there,” he said. “Being part of a brand-new satellite office was also an attraction and LFA’s commitment to a work/life balance appeared to be an actual commitment and not just lip service,” he said.

In his spare time, Adams is often working on house projects or cars. He loves cars and racing. He enjoys iRacing and karting and watching open wheel and sports car races like Formula 1, IndyCar, and IMSA.

Welcome to LFA, Odise!
