LFA goes above and beyond caring for the community. Our outreach programs range from food packing events to community rehabilitation events, to toy drives. Most notably, we’ve been long-time partners with United Way of St. Joseph County, volunteering at their Learning Chapter and Kindergarten Readiness Camps. LFA is committed to helping the lives of children and families in the communities that we serve. We’re changing our community, helping our community, and helping our neighbors.

LFA Volunteers Pack Meals with Feed My Starving Children

As part of our commitment to giving back to client communities, LFA organized a group of 20 staff and friends to pack meals on Friday, Nov. 7, 2025, for Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) — a nonprofit focused on providing food to people in need. This annual LFA event invites employees to bring family and friends to serve together. This year, our team helped Nappanee Missionary Church reach its goal of 1,000,000+ meals packed. In total, the church reports 1,049,760 meals, most of which will support children in Guatemala, Burkina Faso, and other underserved countries. Founded in 1987, FMSC partners…

31st Annual Golf Outing Fun for All, Raises Money for Charity

LFA’s 31st Annual Golf Outing at Blackthorn Golf Club Aug. 15 was a beautiful day of good weather, good golf, good food, good times, and good competition. We hosted 19 teams; 76 golfers, and an additional 13 attendees. The day ended with a three-way tie for first place; a close one to the very end as the tie-breaker between first and second was settled on the fourth-hardest hole. First Place honors included our own Vice President Mike Guzik along with Roger Nawrot (Abonmarche), Kenny Franklin (Parsons Transportation), and Luella Beth Hillen (Metric Environmental). Staff Volunteer at Cultivate Food Rescue

LFA’s Volunteering and Community Outreach group met March 6 at South Bend-based Cultivate Food Rescue, which rescues more than a million pounds of food that would be thrown away to provide it for the hungry across three Indiana counties. Several LFA employees spent part of their Thursday afternoon packaging meals for the food insecure. By the end of the two-hour volunteer shift, the group had boxed more than 300 meals. As a regional civil engineering firm with close ties to our project locations, community involvement is important to Lawson-Fisher, which is why staff have formed a giveback group called the Volunteer and Community Outreach Committee to shepherd such activities. For the 2024-25 holiday season, LFA “adopted” two clients from REAL Services for their Elves for Elders program. LFA Coworkers Participate in Fundraising Race Fifteen LFA staff, friends and family participated in the 2024 Sunburst Races, June1 to support Beacon Children’s Hospital. The 2024 LFA 5k team placed 5th in the 100 Employees and Under category. September is Hunger Action Month.
