LAND SURVEYOR

LFA is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Land Surveyor to join our team serving state, county, municipal, and institutional clients. The successful candidate shall have an understanding and involvement in survey processes including but not limited to: field survey planning, public records research, survey data analysis and processing, creation of surface models, and associated survey deliverables.  Skills related to location control route surveys, right of way engineering, boundary retracement surveys, composition of legal descriptions, and conveyance documents of various types are necessary. Tools, guidance, and ongoing opportunities to further your technical skills will be provided to help ensure your success and continued professional development.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Professional Surveyor in the State of Indiana (or ability to become licensed).
  • 5+ years of varying and increasing project experience.
  • Conscientious, decisive, proactive, team-oriented, and quality focused.
  • Familiarity of the Indiana Department of Transportation Land Surveying and Right-of-Way Engineering processes are a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Project processes on a variety of project types as noted above.
  • Coordinates and guides preparation of survey deliverables with Survey Group and CAD staff, Operations staff, clients, and other internal staff.
  • Ensures that survey work products undergo a standard of care review and quality assurance activities including internal QA reviews and client-issued checklists.

Our Survey Group provides land surveying engineering services on a wide range of projects including dams, water distribution systems, sewer collection systems, road and pavement rehabilitation and reconstruction, bridge rehabilitation and replacement, traffic signals, streetscape, and economic development projects.
