I-465 Ramp E over Indiana Transportation Museum Railroad
Marion County, Indiana
LFA designed and prepared all construction documents for the widening and rehabilitation of a three-span interstate ramp bridge that carries southbound I-69 to westbound I-465 via Ramp ‘E’ over the Indiana Transportation Museum Railroad in Marion County, Indiana. The structure consists of a continuous composite steel beam superstructure with span lengths of 43-ft. 0-in., 54-ft. 0-in. and 43-ft. 0-in. To extend the life of the existing structure while meeting the current design requirements, the project included two additional beam lines to facilitate the required wider width, along with bridge deck and slopewall repairs, replacement of bearings and new approach slabs. LFA worked with INDOT, stakeholders and interested parties, to address the needs of this significant bridge deck widening and rehabilitation project.
