Under general supervision, carries out a variety of drafting assignments using independent judgment and initiative. Prepares layouts, drawings and designs according to engineering specifications using, AutoCAD and/or related software. Retrieves information from files, edits, produces hard copies and updates drawings/designs. Reviews engineering drawings and documentation, resolves undefined details.


GIS Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


• Ability to draft parcels, C.S.M.'s or subdivision boundaries from legal descriptions.

• Maintains above average skills in the use of AutoCad and GIS related software.

• Drafts detailed drawings of structures and installations such as roads, culverts, fresh water       supply, sewage disposal systems, dikes, wharfs, and breakwaters.

• Provides construction inspection services when needed.

• Assists field survey operations in field to locate construction markers or to collect data required for the preparation of construction drawings.

• Responsible for job specific quality system tasks as defined in quality manual.

• Ability to apply, understand, and to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

• Ability to to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

• Other firm related duties and tasks consistent with developing and enhancing a productive workplace environment.


Essential Technician Duties and Responsibilities


• Assists in the preparation of reports, maps, drawings, and aerial photographs to plan and design projects.

• Prepares computations and quantity estimates.

• Develops portions of design of routine projects under direction of project engineer.

•  Performs drafting on a regular basis to reduce designs to final drawings.

•  Ability to apply, understand, and to carry out detailed written  or oral instructions.
